Charleston, W.Va. — Suttle & Stalnaker, PLLC, a public accounting firm with offices located in Charleston, Morgantown, and Parkersburg, is pleased to announce that at the recent West Virginia Society of CPAs (WVSCPA) Annual Committee Day, Suttle & Stalnaker’s own Jason Prince and Sean Woody received two of the top awards presented at Committee Day.
Jason Prince, a Staff Accountant in our Charleston office, received the 2021 West Virginia CPA Exam Merit Winner (highest score in the state of WV). The Merit Award is presented to the individual who makes the highest average passing score on all four parts on their first attempt of the four parts of the CPA Examination. Jason started his career with Suttle and Stalnaker, interning with the firm in 2020 before joining the firm full-time later that year.
Prince becomes the third Merit Award winner in Suttle & Stalnaker’s forty-nine-year history, joining previous Merit Award winners Sarah Henderson (2018) and Whitney Merrill (2015).
A tax intern in our Charleston office, Sean Woody, was awarded the WVSCPA Outstanding Accounting Student. The award recognizes students majoring in accounting from across the state. To qualify, students must have at least a 3.0 or higher in both cumulative GPA and Accounting, submit an essay, resume, and current transcript, and provide a minimum of two references.
Woody joined Suttle & Stalnaker in 2021 as an Intern and plans to transition at Suttle & Stalnaker as a Staff Accountant after graduating from the University of Charleston in the spring of 2022.
