Marie Long is an audit and consulting senior manager at Suttle & Stalnaker, PLLC with over 18 years of public accounting experience.  Marie’s client service experience includes extensive experience with the energy sector with a primary emphasis in coal, governmental, not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. She specializes in performing audits in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and the requirements of the Uniform Guidance (formerly OMB Circular A-133), Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations (Single Audits).  

Marie graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with major concentrations in accounting, finance, and management and a minor in economics. She has been a CPA since 2007. Marie has earned the AICPA’s Advanced Single Audit Certificate and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Certificate.

Marie is active in the following Professional or Civic Organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (WVSCPA), Charleston Chapter of the WVSCPAs, Association of Governmental Accountants (AGA), the Charleston Chapter of the AGA, and the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia.  Marie was the 2014 recipient of the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Young CPA of the Year award.

Marie is a past Chair of the Recruiting and Career Opportunities Committee for the WVSCPAs. She is the Accountability Chair and a past President of the Charleston Chapter of AGA. She is a Past Chair and a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Nominating Committee, and Finance Committee for the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia. Marie is also the Business Liaison with the Piedmont Elementary Elevators program.
